Hi, we have recently bought a citroen saxo 1.1i 1997. Today i was installing the power lead from the battery to run the amp and it came into contact with something under the plastics where the fusebox is, now when i drive and use any of the electrics - braking signalling etc it makes this horrendous buzzing/crackling noise, and there is also a buzzing noise in the engine aswell now. Does anybody know what this could be? thanks in advance

slafordben: Whenever taking a battery out or working with cables ALWAYS disconnect negative first and back on last and that wouldn't happen - too late for this but know that. Can't say with any surety what got damaged or to what extent. I guess listen for the noise and look at item (relays?) or where it's coming from and go from there, T

I don't think there's any standard failure for this problem so it's wide open IMO to lots of possibilities. Look for damage and if not very inclined to chase this down you will need some professional help, T
