sounds like a fuel problem or a sensor unplugged like a MAF sensor or TPSensor. double check you have everythign reconnected.

you can verify a fuel problem by using a little starting fluid down the air filter tubing. if the engine sputters then dies again its not getting gas

if u have the three coil pack on back side of engine there may be wires from the bottom of the coilbase. three wires that plug into the coilbase and connect to the block. three wires that turn into two at block. there should be one wire wrapped in tinfoil. that seems to go nowhere. check to see if its broken. if so solder it back together. found that problem on my cavelier. mine was a bit older so maybe this will help.

Depending on just how much you removed ie.; vacuum lines, electronic connections and the like is probably the culpret. Especially any lines going to the carb or injector assembly, like control valves. The fuel isn't getting to where it's supposed to go. Sounds like a fuel starved motor, so look for that first and work your way back from there.
Example: It ran fine before you worked on it, but now it don't. It ran for around 30 sec the first time after you put it back together and it died ? That is about how much fuel would have been left up in the manifold before you disconnected whatever it was you pulled apart....see? Retrace what it was you took apart and connect it.

Good luck !!
