Michael; Have you thought about contacting a Priest for an exorcism? 
Sometimes, low battery voltage can cause weird things. Check the battery connections. Have the battery charged and tested. It doesn't take a whole lot of voltage/amperage to illuminate the items you mentioned, but takes a lot to turn over a cold engine.
