I can get the engine to turn over, I get (if you'll indulge my onomatopoeia): ShingShingShingVRROOOOoooommmm...*dead* It actually died on the road when I was in very slow traffic, it seems like it stays running if the car is moving but if it's stopped for too long or the engine is just idling or whatever it will die. It's been quirky like this up to this point but now I don't want to count on it for anything considering how it broke down on me the other day. Help please! This car is my lifeblood.

If you can, get the codes pulled and see if there is any help there... You want to check for spark and fuel....see which one you're missing.. If you have some carb clean, see if you can get it run on that.....

If you can keep the engine running by keeping your foot on the gas, you might be having an idle air control problem. Which engine do you have? Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

There should be a stick under the hood with all the info you need or the 8th digit of the vin will tell you. You just need to know if it's a 4 cyl or 6 cyl,

It was the VIN number he was referring to but it's actually the 5th digit, not the 8th that he needs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

It doesn't matter if it's a letter or a number but the one you read (G) is not one of the options so you need to look at it again. If you're that confused, just post the whole VIN number here. That may be a better idea anyway.
