So, I've been having some problems with my car and, I think its the battery. At first it just started going dead all the time and every time we turned the car off it wouldn't start again and it would click when you tried to start it later, and if you tried to start it again it wouldn't even click when the key was turned. For a while we would call a friend and they would jump us, and it would start right up every time. It became a hassle to have to call someone every time I wanted to leave, so I bought a battery charger, and if I charged the battery for about 5 minutes, it would start right up. And now it takes about an hour and a half to two hours just to get it started with the battery charger. I have replaced the alternator, thinking that was it, but it still will not start without having to be charged first. And about an hour ago, while I was driving, my interior lights dimmed and my headlights dimmed as well and my radio shut off, but the car was still driving, but then it started to sputter a little and slow down until it wouldn't even move and all my lights and everything turned completely off. After about 2 minutes, it started going again then stopping every half mile, and it did this all the way home. I'm not sure if its the alternator again, or the battery, or the positive and negative wires that lead to the battery. Does anybody have any ideas? Sorry about the long post, I didn't want to leave any details out about the troubles I've been having.

To start with, check your battery cable connections, making sure they are clean and tight. No green or rust allowed, only shiny metal to metal. Next, get your battery charged and tested. Replace if necessary. Report back and if needed , can help with further testing.

I'll check it all and go to get it tested tomorrow morning and get back to you with what they said.
