1996 Nissan Quest GXE won't start	Sign In

I have a 1996n Nissan Quest GXE. Got out of it to run into a store come back out and doors had locked on by themselves. Tried to open door and set off alarm. Turn alarm off and got into to start it and would not start. The panel lights up but will not crank just clicks a couple of times then nothing. Need some suggestions on what it may be.

Just clicks when requesting starter is usually (if noise from the starter itself) low charge in battery or battery is NG. They can go in a flash especially if an older battery,

Have new battery but is possible that could need charging or be defective. Could it be a possibility that the post wire from battery could be bad. Had terminals replaced at Walmart when new battery was put in about 2 months ago. The way they had it on the cheap terminals could not hardly get them off to replace with better terminals and they had wires really twisted.

Do the cable ends look anything like the pic above? Those are a temporary patch till the better spliced in ends can be done or whole cable(s) IMO.

Rapid fire clicking when starter is asked for if at starter solenoid (could be in line or more likely on top of starter) is usually low amps delivered. Single clicks then nothing - up to lights go out is more likely a cable connection. There are the engine ends of those cable too to be checked too. If you have a voltmeter check the volts now at battery posts, then at battery cable U bolt and see if it's different when starter is requested. Voltmeters start as cheap as $10 on up for better ones,
