1996 Honda Accord EX	Sign In

So I just got my first car and it's a Honda Accord EX...It was a free gift from my aunt. (I really didnt want something for free since I would have rather bought something myself to have that sentimental feeling) It has over 215,000 miles on it. I dont know much about cars but want to make this somewhat fast and nice.

I have been working for 2 years and saved up 8 grand I can put into this car.

Any advice on how to start making this car faster than what it is? How much it will cost me and such...

With 8 grand, you could do a lot. It all depends on how much wrench work you want to put into it. You could do most of the bolt on mods, eg- Extractors, 3" exhaust, Pod filter. These are a good start for minimal HP.

Then you can move onto, Turbo's and intercoolers, port grinding, head shaving things like that. I want to see what the mechanics say too, for my own info.

Just my 2 cents: Car already has 215k - that's enough. Use this car and keep it up as a dependable "driver" and as you are a saver use it to keep on saving $$ and start looking for a better start in another car. This one will still be worth some investment if you just have a clean dependable car out of it. It's your ticket to the next car,

i agree with tom.spend it on another vehicle if your looking for fast and horsepower.

especially since you noted it doesn't have that "sentimental" thing to it.
it would be different if it has a lot less mileage on it.
you may end up with that "buyers remorse"type feeling.

just my thoughts
