im 19 and am pretty handy with a wrench. i havent got a fancy garage but i've got all the tools. i just bought my 1st car (96 ford aerostar) and need to change the spark plugs. it took me FOREVER and countlesss hours of internet searching looking for how to GET to them, i have gotten all but ONE plug..... the one closest to the driver's seat....i have only about 4.5 inches of space in there, i've had to learn to be a contortionist just to get the old one out....... now i cant get the new one in (i cant really see what im doing) and suggestions???? i read that i'd have to take the inner splash guard out from behind the tire.... but thats not in my way...the body and the heat sheild are..... i just cant get to it.... so... please someone tell me im doing it wrong, and that theres an easier way than breaking my wrist to get in there....

See if you can't put the front on jack stands and get to it from underneath. This is how we change them but on a lift. Steve

Another trick is to cut a piece of 5/16 fuel line. Insert the spark plug into the line and use it as an extension. The flex of the fuel line will allow the plug to bend around the obstructions. Since it fits tight onto the plug, you can also start the threads with the fuel line. Just another trick that works well for me. Steve
