1995 Nissan Altima 2.4L oil leak

The leak appears to be from the aluminum (upper) oil pan to block. Right side of engine 1st bolt hole behind timing cover. OEM uses liquid gasket. Victor Reinz offers a gasket. Opinions please?
It looks as if somebody tried to seal previously.
