1995 K1500 V8 5.7 Buks in heavy rain or cold weather Sign In

1995 sierra it never bucks on dry condition. If it is decent temperature outside but it poors or if it snows heavy or really cold it will buck, the harsher the condition the more it bucks One time i was driving in heavy snow storm, (this was the first time it happened) and i was halfway with the gas peddle when it doesn't seem to be putting out any power and it feels like it wants to grab but it only does for a split second wich it seems to be causing it to buck. So i release the peddle till i barly have my foot on the pedal then it grabs and i hear a little clunk has it grabs assuming its the transmission. Then i press again because i am goign 30 in a 45 and its okay till i a little under half throttle (1.7rpm about) then it bucks alot wich i dont want to keep it bucking thinking ill break something so i press harder on the gas once it reaches a little over 3/4 of the way, my rpm jump to almost 3 and it accelerates accordingly but i can't keep my foot there because i would be going too fast. now this was last winter it happened once this summer in heavy rain, but winter is coming again and i am affraid of break something. I was told it could be the starter going bad, not too sure if it relates to my problem. I Dont want to replace a part that is perfectly fine because the truck doesnt have problem starting.

Well with the weather you would have to assume that moisture is playing a role in this. Possibly getting into one of the connections or even reaking havoc in the secondary.....

The 1st step would be to pull the codes and see if there is any help there.....If there is any overdue tune up work you've been putting off.....This would be a great time to get that done....
