1995, Honda Prelude, 2.2 DOHC VTEC, 236k miles
The whole front end of my car shakes (intermittently) when I accelerate (only). Sometimes it will do it only when I am on the highway doing 65mph (+), sometimes it does it no matter how slow I am going and sometimes it doesnt do it at all. 6 months ago it started doing it and I put new tires on it because the old tires had a few bubbles on them. After the new tires, it still shook. However, a few days of the new tires being on there, the "shake" just stopped on its own so i never worried about it again. It wasnt until a few days ago that it started doing it again. I am no mechanic by far, but I am a little car savvy and can usually figure things out. I have asked several people about this and no one seems to know what is going on. I just dont understand it because sometimes it does it and other times it is ok. Sometimes I will be on the highway and it will shake upon acceleration, but when I push in the clutch, it will stop for awhile. I hope this is enough information and I really appreciate any info anyone can help me with.

cubichi06; You need to do a thorough inspection of the front suspension and steering parts. Check to make sure the rack and pinion mounts are intact and tight so that the rack/pinion assy. can't move side to side. Check inner and outer tie rods for excessive play. Check CV joints, inner and outer, both sides. If everything checks out okay, have the front alignment checked. Excessive positive caster or too much toe can cause problem, as well.
