1995 Chevrolet Lumina LS 3.4 LV6

I recently took my car into a GM dealer to have it serviced becasue the " Service Engine Soon" Light was on. They hooked it up to the only to find out that it wouldn't communicate with the PCM. I was told I need a new PCM and MEMCAL. I dont want to pay the $490.00 so does anyone know where I can get these parts cheaper. And What are they, I'm not car savy?

May I suggest you get another reading? I wouldn't spring that $$ with that diag so far. Major parts outlets are offering code checks for free and if the same problem comes up fine but it could be a problem with the connection - yours or the one that was used,
