1994 Nissan Sentra Brake Light On Dash Sign In

I have a 94 Sentra that is giving me some fits. The ABS light is on, on the dash. I got the scan tool out, and it said that there is an LED on the control unit that blinks out the codes when they are stored?? I have tore apart the passenger's side kick panel and can not find the unit that the scan tool is talking about. Anyone have any ideas here?

Thanks!

Heres a pic of what i have...

This system activates the ABS warning lamp when a malfunction occurs. The vehicle must be driven above 30 km/h (19 mph) for at least one minute at which time the unit will perform a self diagnosis. If a problem is found it will activate the warning lamp. Bring the vehicle to a stop and, with the engine still running, count the flashes on the control unit LED to determine the trouble code.

Any codes in the system will be erased once the engine is turned off.

So does that mean that while the engine is running, you are to get out take the passengers kick panel out, and look for a blinking LED? I am perplexed at this point! haha.

maybe if you take the panel out before you head out on the diagnostic trip....and if you got a competant passenger to count the flashes for ya, that way you dont have to worry about missing a flash and getting the wrong code
