Hello. I'm having a issue with my 1994 Crown Victoria (4.6L engine) in which during operation the engine idles very rough. Has about 100,000 miles. It seems to improve for a few seconds during acceleration , but goes back to being rough. I plan to check the electrical to see if that it is the problem , and other such things but so far I am baffled. Hoping it's not a stuck valve. This issue could be many things , so I apologize if this question is too vague , but I plan to do more extensive testing. Thanks for any possible help you can provide.

What's the status of the obvious things like plugs, wires and coil? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Also , I forgot to add that while it is running rough , there is a very deep vibration that can be felt inside the cabin. While the car is cold or still warming up , when the heater is running there is a very slight smell of gasoline , but goes away when the car gets warmer. When the car hits high RPM , the engine runs fine for a moment , but goes back to being rough. I do plan to check electrical , so I'll post my results when I can get to that. Oops, sorry, I logged into the wrong account when I made this post.

Also check for vacuum leaks. Listen for hissing noises. The PCV elbow at the throttle body likes to become mushy and suck itself in causing a vacuum leak. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
