I would think either the handle has come off or it has broke on the inside. You will need to take the inside door panel off to take a look inside. Yours is either off the pin or broke. Either way you will have to remove the inner panel of your door to inspect the damage and fix accordingly. A good repair manual published for your vehicle can be acquired at your local automotive store, or even online. E-Bay has a lot of that stuff, or for free, take a visit to your library and paruse the tech section for one. They don't let them out the door so bring a couple dollars in change to copy the pages you'll need.
