alien; Thanks for letting us know that you got 'er fixed. Just so you know, if no one has any bright ideas or suggestions, we won't respond rather than sending you on an incorrect path. It's not that we are ignoring you. Thanks for letting us know the fix. I've never run into that symptom/fix before, but I'll put it in the back of my tired mind, just in case someone else runs into it. This is the first I've read your original post. Are you still having problems with figuring out the 4X4? If your truck has locking hubs, you'll need to turn them to the 'Lock' postion. Then, with the vehicle stopped, in neutral, move the transfer shifter to the 4H positon. If you get any 'grinding', turn off the engine, put it in park, then restart and try again. Some work fine in neutral, while others don't like things spinning while trying to engage. If yours doesn't have locking hubs, just ignore that part. Four wheel drive needs to be used even in the off-season to keep things lubricated. It's best to find a gravel road to do this, of course. If not possible, maybe a rainy day. If not, pick a straight stretch of road, at under 40mph, and drive it for a few miles. 4X4 does not like dry pavement.

I try to run mine once a month. If my tired mind reminds me.

Have a great weekend.
