I drive a 1993 Ford Taurus GL 3.0. with 108,000 miles on it. I pulled out of my driveway today and got up to 15 mph and my car "stalled" so to speak, but picked back up. When i reached a stop sign at the end of this road(which wasnt even 1/2 a mile) my car suddenly died. I restarted the car and turned immediately and once again hit another stop sign. My car died and failed to restart for a good 2 minutes of my failing efforts. Finally when i held my gas down the car started and i sped away back to my home as soon as possible. About two weeks ago we had to replace a transmission seal an fill it back up with Tranny Fluid.(whether or not this has anything to do with it, i dont know.)My boyfriend insists on it being the alternator, yet my dad says(if it were to be the alternator) that whenever i press the gas my headlights should dim, but they do not dim whatsoever IDEAS? im a girl so i have no idea about cars and really dont wanna spend a lot of money on something that wont fix my car without considering all other options first!!! Thanks Meagan.
