THE TIRES ON MY 1993 BLAZER ARE 1 SIZE TOO BIG. (THEY CAME WITH THE TRUCK). THIS IS A 4-DOOR WITH 2-WHEEL DRIVE. WHEN I CUT THE STEERING ALL THE WAY IN EITHER DIRECTION, I FEEL WHAT MAY BE SOME RUBBING, BUT THE PREVIOUS OWNER SAYS THIS SHOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT, LIVING IN OHIO, THE SLIGHTLY LARGER SIZE IS BETTER IN SNOW. WHAT'S THE REAL DEAL? THANKS!

it is a common issue for people in trucks and suvs to increase the sizes of their tires.......cant really answer your question about about the rubbing.....it really all depends on what the tire is rubbing on??????? obviously anything that can or could become sharp and slice a tire is bad and needs to be attended to.

as far as larger tires being better in the snow, its actually the opposite. i know it sounds weird. but i read an article in road and track that bigger tires hence have a wider contact patch. this wider contact surface area makes it harder for the tire to dig through the snow and get grip on the pavement.

they actually recommend an narrower tire for better snow driving handling.

The tires are probably rubbing on the lower control arms. It is not a good thing because it will rub off the sidewall and make it weak enough to blow out the sidewall. Dmac's srtatements are true.
