Sign In I don't know much about cars but I do know I am tired of calling the neighborhood "mechanic" to give me his diagnosis which is 99% always wrong and yet I always have to pay him so I figured asking would maybe help me narrow down my issue. It is a 1992 Toyota Corolla. I replaced the alternator maybe a month ago at the latest. It does NOT have a car radio but there is a wiring harness set up where the radio would go. Anyway, I drive it for a day and then I park it in the garage. The next day when I try to go somewhere, the battery is too weak to crank the car. This is a brand new battery replaced only 2 weeks ago that I've had to recharge multiple times. The last time I charged it, I put it back in the car and the car cranked right up and drove me where I needed to go but then the whole draining issue happened again once I parked the car over night. I have since charged the battery completely, it is full but now the car won't start at all. There isn't a single sound. There are no working lights, there's nothing at all to show there's even life in the car. I have no idea what the issue could be. Sign In You have a circuit drawing to much power on the vechical when it's turned off. You need to isolate the problem circuit by disconnecting the circuit one by one till the problem goes away. This might be. This problem might be over your head and your neighbours for that matter. You need a understanding of ohm's law and how to use a meter properly in order to figure out the problem. New or not car batteries HATE going dead and can kill a new one. When stone dead and not enough to make just dash lights lite it's pushing it to failure. A drain could be battery itself or who knows? Sign In Neither one of these answers is the solution. As explained, even with a fresh fully charged battery, NOTHING is turning on right now. Not even lights. The battery is not dead. Sign In You have a battery or a connection problem. You started out with a battery going dead overnight meaning either it's no good or you have a parasitic draw. The second problem didn't start until you removed the battery so don't be so quick to dismiss professional advice and go back and check your work over again.
