The shifter inside the car seemed to have play in it. We checked under hood and the nut was
really loose. We tightened it up and it still isnt working right, some times it sticks all the way to the right
and you have to do something under the hood to get it loose to get it back in park.
Is there a certain way that you have to line this up or make somesort of adjustment on it?

That is part of my problem the other is that when you go down road in car it goes like in a limp mode.
like it kicks out of gear and you wiggle the shifter and it goes in gear but will not go into the third change.
It did this for a while and you could turn it off and then restart and it would run fine.. but not since we
tightened the nut.

Put the trans. shifter in park. Loosen the linkage nut again, shift the transmission into park manually, then tighten the nut again. You might want to check that linkage to make sure it isn't bent.

Angel; He'll need to disconnect the shift linkage where it bolts to the transmission, or, at least loosen it enough
so that he can move the lever on the transmission into the park position. To verify that it is in fact in Park, have him release the parking brake and see if he can move the car. Of course, it shouldn't move if it is in Park.

Goodmorning everyone,
We did that this morning , loosened the nuts and lined it up tightened it back up, and it still when you
pull the shifter all the way to the right it gets stuck in the last place to the right. You have to loosen it all
back up again and manually put back in park postion.. does it need some wd40 sprayed somewhere?

He drove it back down the road a little piece and it still will not shift right.
