I am having problems installing a new lock and tumbler. I just bought the car and the keey was broken off inside the ignition. It took 3 days to get the new one in and now i cant get the old one out to install the new one. I ripped the steering wheel off and the steering colum down to see if i could figure it out and i cant find out how to do it.. any help would be appreciated, expecially a diagram. Thanks
Scott

You may find it hard for us (me) to help with this; I wouldn’t want to be helping someone get a new ignition lock in a vehicle that doesn’t actually belong to him or her.
Sorry
You could call a mobile locksmith to come out and get them to do the actual changing of the lock; then you could finish up the job as in putting the rest of the column back together?

What do you mean doesnt belong to me? I purchased the car" Waiting for new title in my name" the ignition wont work because the person that sold it to me broke the key off and in order to start it i have to press a bar underneath the colum forward, then it starts. I dont think you understood either. While i was trying to put the new lock and tumbler in that is when i took the wheel off and pulled the entire steering colum down. When i couldnt get it fixed, i put it back together and drove the car home.

Sorry I didn’t mean to say it’s not your car; it’s just how do I know it is?
Not knowing for sure is also the reason I will no longer help people with disabling anti theft devices, here on an open forum.

i understand why you would be cautious about it. No problem. I actually found out what it was i was needing to get...i forgot about the 2 threaded screw type things on the side to actually get into the right part of the colum. I fould the proper tools and should get it done no problem...It was only a 300 dollar car and i fugured its worth it when all i needed was a new lock and tumbler and a new muffler. Thanks anyway.
