1990 GMC Van with stuck fuel tank float Sign In

This has happened a few times (only) when I filled the tank up to the max, and of course on a long road trip. I'm assuming the tank float is sticking as the gauge stays on full all the time. Over time the gauge will return to normal fuel level but that can be weeks.
I've used techron but is there some way of getting to the float without dropping the tank. It's a conversion van so there is no way to access a panel in the floor even if there is one to get to the tank.
Drive on railroad tracks? Not
Any suggestions?

None of the fuel pumps or gauges are accessed through the floor. the tank has to be removed from below on all of them. They have a lot of problems with the sending units being effected by sulfur in the gas. You're likely just going to have to replace the sender in the tank.
