Hi. I have a 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis, 5L engine, 80,000 miles. It's starting to vibrate and wobble as I increase speed to the point at about 60 it's vibrating quite a lot. I just purchased it about a month ago and it was shaking somewhat even when I bought it but it's getting worst now. The steering wheel also vibrates as I increase speed. The front tires are somewhat worn. Can it be just the tires? I've jacked it up and looked for obvious problems with the steering linkage. The idler arm had a worn bushing so I replaced the idler arm. That improved it a little but not much. I could not see any obvious worn parts with the linkage. When I grab one of the front tires and try to shake it top to bottom neither shake to indicate problems with ball-joints. When I shake it left to right there is small play. Also when I start it and begin driving there is obvious wobble of the front end up and down but I still can't see what the problem is. I'm about to jack it up again and take both tires off and see if I'm missing something.

Any help guys?

Ok. I found the problem: The front driver side tire has an egg in it. Going get two tires tomorrow. Thanks any way guys.
