1989 F-150 Trans problem

So I got a 1989 F-150 4x4. The old 302 EFI engine died, so i went and bought a 351 carb. Everything bolted up fine, it runs great but i cant get the trans to come out of 1st gear. I got reverse, park and 1st thats all. Its the trans off the 302. If anyone can help me out that would be great thanks.

Do you have the throttle velocity(passing gear) cable adjusted properly?
Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds
