I bought a used 1988 Camry not sure what engine I just know it is a 4 cylinder. It hadn't been driven in a year. I have replaced the starter, battery, and alternator among other things. When I first got it it ran for about a month before I replaced the alternator. It has always had a dashboard light that goes on and off about the rear back up lights not working. The previous owner tore up the back like he was trying to fix it. I put new bulbs in and it worked for a short time and then stopped again.

It starts up and runs great sometimes. Other times, possibly after it gets hot, it stalls out and acts like it is out of gas. Sometimes while I am driving I press on the gas and I can tell it is not getting fuel and then it stalls. The dashboard oil light and back up lights come on when it is acting up. It seems to run worse with heat or a/c or other things on. The plug on the new alternator keeps coming unplugged and the alternator is hot.

Where do I start? Thanks.
