Start by checking for power before and after the ignition switch on the starter circuit with a 12 volt test lamp or volt meter. Seems it wouldn't crank, jumping trigger wire at solenoid would work with just the likely push on trigger wire removed, jumped with power then just put back on and now all is well. Do I have that right? Those push on elbows get tired. Some just need a gentle squeeze to make them snug on solenoid again with just a drop of something like WD-40 and can behave again dependably.
