1981 Mustang stall when i press gas pedal

my 1981 mustang accelerate and run fine but some time it just doesn't want to accelerate and just stalls when i press the gas pedal and some times it just stall without pressing the gas pedal it a 3.3 lit 6 cyc auto

Overall tune and operation if ok this has a carb that could eat an accellerator pump.......
Vacuum leaks and other things ruled out first. You can look down the carb holding choke plate open and see the squirt in most to know if this works. PLEASE DO THAT WITH A COLD ENGINE!
It's on the maybe list anyway,
