Have a 1977 Malibu that won't shift to any gear. Is this a vaccum problem? When I shift to any gear the engine will not pull down, there is no indication of I did anything. Not anywhere near a Autozone for a diagram for this and don't have a manual. Any help would be great.

If the transmission has the proper fluid level & the shifter’s mechanical shift mechanism is functioning; it won’t be a vacuum problem, but an internal transmission one.
In other words if the shifter feels normal and the trany’s fluid is full; your trany is finished, burnt out, NFG (No Further Good)
Sorry; but that’s how basic it was, back in a 70’s vehicle.
