106 central locking

The drivers door of my 1996 peugeot 106 won't open at all. Had a few problems with it locking itself occasionally when I went to open it from the inside, but now have to climb over passenger seat to get in or out. Anybody got any ideas how I can open it please?

Will it unlock by key from the outside thru the window? That would be a clue as to what to do next,
