Hi. When I crank my Cobalt, it struggles to start for a few seconds unless I turn the key halfway to the alternator and then turn it fully on, then it has an easier time. When the car is running it smells like gas, especially when stopped at a light. It does not appear to be leaking any gas. I put in a bottle of fuel injection cleaning fluid but it didn't help - in fact the gas smell didn't start until I did that. Any ideas on what part of the fuel system could be causing this? Unfortunately I won't be able to have it looked at until Wednesday.

If your smelling raw fuel, you need to figure out where the fuel leak is. That means inspecting the fuel system under the hood and underneath the vehicle. Inspect around the fuel tank. If I remember correctly, they did have problem with the fuel sender pipes cracking on those. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
