02 Yukon cuts off while driving down the road

02 Yukon cuts off while driving down the road

02 GMC Yukon 5.3 L, 142,000 miles. 3 times the vehicle has sputtered and cut off while driving down the road. Each time, the vehicle was cranked cold and driven less than 5 miles when it cut off. Once it shut off it will not stay running. It will crank momentarily but cuts back off. A mechanic checked the fuel pressure and stated it was good. The vehicle is not throwing any codes or check engine light. Any help?

Was the fuel pressure tested during the failure?
Is there any security light on or flashing when this happens?
You are going to have to determine which function is dropping out when the car dies, whether it be spark, injector pulse or fuel pressure.

Yes. Car quit and put fuel pressure gauge on it. Fuel pressure was 45 to 49 psi.

what is normal operating pressure for fuel pump on this model vehicle. i was told that the vehicle will not operate properly with fuel pressure below 49 psi. is that correct?

The spec i 55 to 62 and that is likely true.

OK. So we put a new fuel pump on it. Run fine for a few days. Wife drove it today. Going down the rode, electric door locks activated, dash lights went off, engine shut off. After shutting off A/C, radio the car cranked and she was able to drive home. We had a DVD/monitor installed about a month ago could this be related. Whats wrong now.
