02 Monte Carlo SS won't start sometimes. Ignition Switch, Key Cylinder or Key maybe????? Sign In

My 02 Chevy Monte Carlo SS just started having a very random issue. I will go to get into it and the keyless remote won't unlock the doors or work at all. So I manually open the door with the key and then the car won't start (won't even attempt to or even make a noise...nothing). The dash lights will light up however the power door locks do not work at all when this happens either. Anyhow, I wait a little bit and then it starts and acts completely fine. This has been happening randomly over the last week and a half. And sometimes starts fine for several days and then this happens again. I am thinking it may be the ignition switch, the key cylinder or even maybe the key itself. Anyone had this happen before or have any ideas what could be going on with it? Shocked

I did not notice the security light flashing. All the dash lights just light up like normal but the ignitiion does nothing and the power door locks will not open or lock from the inside either when it does this. Crazy

Well I replaced the ignition switch and it seemed to do the trick. Knock on wood.....hopefully it continues to start with no issues.
