01 safari won't start. code reader can't find ecm

I changed the thermostat and now it will not start. The code reader cannot connect to the computer. HELP!

I'm not sure if it's the same on your safari, but when my scanner couldn't pickup my sierra, the cigarette lighter fuse was burned out. It's part of the same circuit. Luckily the guys here helped me out on that one. I thought I had major issues but was just a 30 cent fuse!
