01 lesabre road noise

I have a 2001 Buick Lesabre Custom with 98000 miles on it. My problem is that when I go down the road it almost sounds like a truck with big tires on it the noise started about a week ago and it seems like its getting louder I have brand new tires on it goodyear comfort tread. The wheel bearings are fine too also i tried putting it in nuetral to let the rpm slow down to see if the noise would but it didnt so i know its nothing to do with the motor it just sounds like your in a truck with big tires buzzing down the road I dont get it is their some kind of gear or something that goes out in the front end plz help

How many tires did you replace and where were they installed?
How do you know the wheel bearings are good?

sams club put the tires on about a month ago and ive had wheel bearings go out on this car once on left side and many times on other cars i have owned and im pretty sure what that sounds like and wheel bearing noise changes when u turn the wheel atleast from my experience thanks for gettin back with me its not looking good is it

Normally a wheel bearing will make more noise when you load it by turning from side to side.
1st thing you should try to nail down is, where the noise is coming from. The frt or rear of the car? Then the easiest thing to do would be to rotate the tires & see if the noise moves.
Don't automatically eliminate something just because its "new"

80% of all moving growling noises will be caused by either irregular worn tires or hub/wheel bearings. The other 20% will end up being differential bearings.

I had my tires checked out and balanced and rotated today but no help for the noise. the noise i comeing from the front and it seems dead center in front. I hate to take it to the dealership so they can charge me a ton of money but looks like thats where it will probably end up in the end thanks for all your imput

You will have to get it up on a lift so you can get under it while it's running in gear and try to isolate the location. If you can realize any change swerving left to right, it's probably in the differential.
It's pretty rare though. It's usually a bearing.

I have a 2005 Lasabre that has begun to make a sound like I have off road tires on the front. It sounds like your problem. Did you find out what it was? What did you do about it?

I had Sam's Club mount 4 Goodrich tires on the car this past fall. The sound just sort of started suddenly and hasn't stopped. I had Michelin tires before. I was going to replace these Goodrich tires with new Michelins but want to make sure the sound is the tires. One tire dealer here in town said the bearings felt fine. (did the push and pull test)

Deario: This thread is now old and since you made a reply to yourself I'm not sure I can separate it. Post your own for your own is always best and less confusing.
I'm here so will suggest that new tires will or can bring out a noisy bad wheel bearing as old tires may have worn into the defect. Changing them for another set won't change the noise if that's the problem.
Most wheel bearing will sound worse or better while going along on left or right moving along turns would show up as better or worse sounding,

Thanks for your input. I put the spare (donut) on the rear and front of the offending side with no change to the sound. I then just tried going about 30 or 35 mph and safely sharp turns to the left and then to the right. It was definitely the bearing on the front driver's side. We had it changed and that took care of it. Just glad I didn't put new tires on there first only to have them cup as well. Again, Thanks for you're help. Dario
