i wen't to autoparts and they said i need a new oxygen sensor not a tune up thank you god. but i bought the oxygen sensor and i tried looking online to see where it was located and i couldn't find any sites to tell me so could you help me.

There are 2 O2 sensors...
One is in the exhaust manifold ,rear of the engine, in manifold by firewall.
The other one is in the exhaust behind the catalytic converter.

well the one the guy gave me is the premium oxygen sensor made by BOSCH its like a goldish copper color and has a black,silver, and white cords i dont know if that will help u

Hey Guest. Please post the exact code number that was read to make them tell you the O2 sensor is bad. A lot of times the O2 is good ans something else causes the problem. Here is a partial list of O2 codes. This does not include manufacturers codes. You can see why we need the specific code. The last 4 are not for O2's, but a lot of parts houses wilol sell the sensor to try to clear the code. Remember, the parts person is probably NOT a technician/mechanic.
P0131 Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit out of range - Bank No. 1. P0132 Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit Voltage High - Bank No. 1. P0133 Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit Slow Response - Bank No. 1. P0135 Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater circuit fault - Bank No. 1. P0136 Downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit fault - Bank No. 1. P0138 Downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit Voltage High - Bank No. 1. P0140 Downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit Faulty - Bank No. 1. P0141 Downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater circuit fault - Bank No. 1. P0151 Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit out of range - Bank No. 2. P0152 Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit Voltage High - Bank No. 2. P0153 Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit Slow Response - Bank No. 2. P0155 Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater circuit fault - Bank No. 2. P0156 Downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit fault - Bank No. 2. P0158 Downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit Voltage High - Bank No. 2. ok i finally got time to go to Autoparts again and they printed out the codes i have P0135; and i bought a Premium Oxygen Sensor; is that the same as the Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction; and the guy told me i would have to go to Chevy to find out what is wrong with the P1404 Manfacurer control is that true????if you could could you help me find the Sensor heater Circuit i tried and i couldn't find it and i couldn't find anything online that would help me find it. thanks

P1404 is an EGR code
Possibilities are faulty EGR valve, PCM, wiring/connections..
The oxygen sensor itself its the "heated oxygen sensor"....
see above diagrams......

If you have an EGR code, that can cause an O2 code due to the wrong mixture of fuel and air going into the engine. If the mixture is wrong going in, it has to be wrong coming out and the O2 sensor can pick up on that. Your code is for the O2 sensor heater. That usually is the sensor itself. On the EGR code, have the EGR removed and check to see if carbon is on the pintle holding the valve from operating.
