i have a 2006 xtype diesel jag 2.2 estate i have recently have problems when accelerating had to overtake the car has lost power and the coil light flashes on and off then it will accelerate but a lot slower if i pull over and lock the car then unlock it and start the car it is fine but then in time the fault occurs again i have been told it could be the injectors or the fuel pump or a dirty fuel filter and injectors need flushing with treatment could anyone help

I don't do to much diesel work & unfortunately my database doesn't cover this model so I can't even research this problem so this is kind of a double whammy..
The problem has really peaked my curiosity though. The one part that about having to lock & unlock the car got my attention.
Simply turning the car off & on won't make it run better, you have actually lock & unlock the car to get it to run better?
If that's the case that would be a big clue to what's going on. Normally I would be be thinking a possible anti-theft problem but really can't see how that would be the case, you would think it would just shut the car down...
You should have your codes pulled to see if there is any help there.......
When you find the problem, let us know what it was, I'd really like to know this one.........
