Hello all. This is my first timehere so I will try and make it painless. I have a 2005 chevy express with a 6.0 liter engine. I was hooking up the trailer. while the truck was idling. It just quit. Tried to start it and it would only turn over. Did what toublshooting I can I have a obd2 and it say there no codes so I removed a fuel line and found no fuel Troublshoot farthe and found there is no power to the pump. Checked all circuits I could find in the fuse box but I am sure there are some safety items I am not finding. I could use any help at all on this. I did unplug the pump and run a jumper and it runs so I am sure it is in the electrical side. Thanks Bob

Do you know how this circuit works? It only powers for 2 seconds when the key is first turned on and doesn't resume until the PCM sees a tach signal so if you are testing for power, it needs to be done in the first 2 seconds of key on. When you said you jumped the pump and it runs.......Does this mean the you could start the engine & it ran?

Hammer Thank you for your response to my prblem. Yes I do kknow the timming issue with the problem. I was doing my thing with the issue and found that the circuit was interupted on the ground side. I ran a ground wire from the pump and it is working now. I not sure if this is correct or safe but it is working and cycling fine. I still have no codes so I amm wondering if I just lost a ground. I do not have a schematic for this truck so I am just winging it. Could you tell me if I am on the right track. I not to sure if bypassing the ground will cause oter problems down the road. Or if you culd tell me where or how the circuit is grounded I could go there and check that. Thanks for your timely response. Bob

Sidom Yes it ran fine. But it did not time out. I did not have it plugged in to the harness. I have sense payed with it more and found that I had no ground on the ground side of the plug. I ran my own ground and everything is working fine. I am not sure if the PCM turns off on the ground side or not. I assembled the truck and ran it around the block. Everything is working fine. I can here the pump charge when I turn on he key I here it also turn off. I do not have a gauge for the system yet but I will have one in the morning and I will run test to make sure my pressures are within spec if only I new what that was. Ay help on this would be a life saver. I dont want to do somthing wrong and die on the side of the road. Thanks Bob

Hmmer Also I will be getting a pressure gauge for this system in the morning I live way out in the country and it hard for me to get to town every day. When I get the gauge for this Application what am I looking for ??? And what are the specs for this truck??

Hammer Thankyou for the info. I will trace the wire and see if that is were all my issues started. It sounds right. We have been in the rain for awhile now and I have been driving thru alot of flooded roads. I also use this truck to launch my boats so it gets put in the salt water alot. I know I should rinse it but I dont so I guess I deserve my problems. Being that what it is. It sounds like by me running my own ground I am not hurting anything wouldnt you say?

Hammer You guys are a life saver. Your respnses are on the spot and to the point. I am very very happy I found this sight. I would hate to imadgine what it would have cost me for the dealer to trace down a bad ground. Like I said this problem did not throw any codes on a OBD 2 scanner. I am not sure if they can just plug in a computer and it will tell them there is a bad ground butthen again Idnt know what they have.
