Hello, I have a 99 chevy blazer 4.3L, 150,000mi. I just had the trans replaced. Since then when I start the truck it vibrates. When I put it in drive the rpms go down under 1000 and stops the vibration. When I give it gas it will shake and vibrate at around 1000rpms until it shifts gears then it goes away while driving. When I slow down or stop. The vibration comes back and repeats itself. I did take it back to the trans shop. They checked it and said it was a loose spark plug wire. it didn't seem to help and they are not real helpful either. I have all the parts to do a tune up. cap, rotor, plugs and wires. I haven't done this yet. I was just wondering if anyone had any idea of whats happening.

That may or may not be an engine problem. It could be a problem with the trans or torque converter also. I would get a second opinion at another trans shop and see what they say. They may charge you for a diagnostic but if it turns out to be a tranny problem, make the original trans shop reimburse you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
