truck hard to start Sign In

I have a 1996 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 pickup. It starts but is very hard starting. what could the problem be?

You use a pressure gauge on the fuel rail underhood.

When you say "hard starting" is the engine cranking normally as in starter is turning the engine at the expected speed?

yes it turns over just fine

96 Chev 1/2 ton PU Sign In

Ok - back to a pressure check. I don't have the range of norms at hand but know many Chevs are fussy with the right minumum pressure.

Also: Recently noted around here from friends in biz was a bunch of problems with wiring connections at plugs in the wires to the fuel pump and gauge on GM vehicles causing erratic problems and confused testing for a while. Pins on connectors showed that greenish/blueish corossion build up when opened up for inspection on those,
