when I'm driving the van it slows down when I'm still pressing the gas pedal and then picks up speed again. sometimes when i'm on the freeway the speedometer even starts to bounce up and down when it starts to slow down. After a few seconds sometimes it returns to normal. However, it's gotten real bad lately, so it feels like the car is chugging along or if it will stall.

Which year?

Check engine light on? If so, what trouble code numbers are stored?

no check engine lite on, the year its 2002 only the abs lite's on

Surprised the check engine light hasn't popped on. Kind of hard to tell you what is going on by your description. It could be a misfire going on, but what is it being caused by? You may need to swing into a repair shop, so they can connect a scanner on it and watch what is going on in the data stream while your issue is happening. That might give some clues and direction for diagnosis.

I put the scanner yesterday and showed P0420 and P0500
