I HAVE 1993 TOYOTA CAMRY. REPLACED THE ENGINE WITH A 1995 TOYOTA CAMRY EVERYTHING HOOKS UP FINE IDLE GOOD. IT SHUT OFF WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO STOP MOSTLY AT STOP SIGN AND TRAFFIC LIGHT. ALMOST AT EVERY STOP UNLESS I HOLD BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME. SEVERAL DIFFERENT MECHANIC TRACED EACH OTHER WORK AND FOUND NOTHING AS FOR ENGINE CONNECTION. THE CAR WAS PLACED ON A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE FOUND NOTHING. NO ENGINE OR WARNING LIGHT ON. NO ERROR CODE. I JUST WONDER IF THE 1995 ENGINE IS TO HIGHER MODEL FOR THE 1993 CAMRY. OR DO I NEED TO CHANGE SOMETHING ELSE LIKE DISTRIBUTOR OR THE COMPUTER UNIT. PLEASE HELP. THE IS WAS A USED MOTOR PUT IN. MAYBE IT A 1996 ENGINE 2200 ENGINE

when in park, try pumping the brakes. Does this make it try to stall when doing it? If so you have a bad brake booster

First check for any possible vacuum leaks and for a stuck open EGR valve. If you eliminate those things, you may have a bad IAC ( idle air control) but try cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
