The tightening sequence must be done in specific pattern. We should be able to supply you with the pattern if need be. The actual tightening of the head bolts is done in three steps; SOHC: Step One: Tighten bolts to 22 ft. lbs. Step Two: Tighten bolts to 33 ft. lbs. Step Three: Tighten bolts by turning 1/4 turn (90%) DOHC: Step One: Same as SOHC Step Two: Tighten bolts to 37 ft. lbs.
