i have a 94 chevy s10 blazer with w code 4.3 engine how much if ant play should the timing chain and gear set have in it i can rotate the crank almost 3dege befofe cam gear moves

no i havent replaced any thing yet i just thing it has to much play in it just cant remember if it suppose to have any

ok just asking i was checking the timing with my light and it was jumping really bad

That's why you saw all the movement. The computer was controlling the timing. Unplugging the timing connector puts the computer in bypass mode for setting the timing. It's under the dash on the passenger side.
