system seems air bound

94 honda civic ex.. system seems airbound, has verry little circulation.. thermostat is out to increase flow thru head.. has new water pump.. head has been checked.. all cylinders seem good.. no water comes up when u remove plugs 1x1 n crank engine. holds 16psi in pressure test and when u crank with pressure gauge on needle dosent flux or flutter.. car just over heats after 20 mins of driving sometimes less.. seems and looks like a circulation problem..but acts like air bound .. freeze seems to sit in rad and boil and turns to vapor n builds back pressure into overflow blows out vapor .. when tap bleeder valve same issue vapor comes out..please help me out im ready to take a sledge to this car

Anytime the system has been low at radiator unseen in vehicles with remote tank and pressure caps there only then you need to fill and or bleed air out thru the highest spot. The thermostat is a block and will lock air inside engine till it's open so it can take several cycles to purge out air but you said you removed that which isn't good for the engine at all and not a solution. Oddly that can cause overheating in a remote corner of engine that doesn't get enough internal circulation with a missing thermostat - guage may even read cold but spots may not be. What may be happening is combustion gasses are entering the cooling system, pressures it up with air which you could feel at hoses too soon for normal warming up pressure and that will push coolant out to recovery tank and may not be able to return it when cooled down so it's always getting air (vapor) in engine and will overheat. See if you can purge it all out of air, replace thermostat, then check for how fast system pressures up on a cold start. If it is gases getting in from combustion then it still could pass a pressure test but you just continue to find air in system. If so - that's usually a head gasket problem, T

very good advice above. especaially about thermostat. on some engines (rotorys) you take out the thermostat you can do serious damage. with that said if above advice does not work (which it probably will) put therm back on make sure there is no obstruction on your grill blocking air flow. make sure your fan is running, let get hot, if overheat continues turn off car, let cool,very carefully (w/car off) touch different areas of radiator w/hand (DONT GET BURNED, MAKE SURE YOU LET COOL) and feel for cooler spots. keep in mind it will probably be a little warmer on opposite side. but it should not be any major differerance if any. if some cool spots, you prob have a plugged/bad radiator. did problem start before or after replacing/removing parts?
