Sign In Is this how you check the tranny fluid level in a 98 pontiac sunfire? Run for about 1/2 hr on level ground crawl under the car there will be a plug on the tranny on bell housing side.. pull the plug (while running and wheels blocked).. if nothing comes out keep adding fluid till it starts to come out the hole. Put plug back in cycle from drive to reverse a few times and re-check.
