Re: smoke in oil gauge nossle Sign In

Well if you’ve had 4 different techs look at this and they are all saying the smoke is from excessive crankcase (piston) blow-by. Then I guess it may mean the engine needs to be reconditioned or replaced.
There are only a couple of things I can suggest; confirm that these mechanics’s have checked that the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system is functioning properly and that the proper grade & quality of engine oil is being used.
For an engine with only 70K on it and have this problem, means; something has happened to it? Possibly the engine became over heated at one point; causing premature wear; abuse is another thing; as in someone running the crap out of it; or possibly something that hasn’t been done on a regular basis; maintenance (oil changes). Lack of maintenance will wear an engine out as fast as either of the two others that I mentioned.

thanx for ur reply Dan

well i think the local mechanics have just one thinking about the smoke coming out from engine or oil gauge. they never check any another thing for this problem. they have one thing in mind that if smoke coming out of engine, the engine must be rebuilt.

So i want to know that is there any another reason of this smoke? like piston rings of somthing else.

there is no engine light indicator.
no high temperature on long run even with ac on.

please suggest

thanx

Like I’ve already said make sure the PCV system is functioning properly, fresh motor oil of the proper grade and quality motor oil.
If it still smokes after that; it is likely the excessive engine blow-by, due to worn piston rings; which would mean rebuilding the engine.
Just replacing piston rings; would be like putting new shoe laces on old, worn out, stinking running shoes. The engine will still smoke and the running shoes still stink.
