rough running engine

My 2000 Chevy Cavalier is running rough when I depress the gas pedal. It is a 2.0 with 163,000 miles. I changed the plugs and wires. I checked the spark in all plugs and all are sparking. It seems to idle fine. Could it be the fuel filter? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

fuel filters are cheap and need service, so if you are having trouble not a bad idea to change it. Check fuel pressure uder acceleration. Maybe a weak pump. Also, how clean is your air filter?
