Are you saying this problem started right after the tranny repair or ran ok for a bit & now has the problem??? If it happen right after installing the transmission I would check the ckp sensor for damage..... If it's been running ok you should have the codes read to see if there is any direction there..........

You may want to check fuel pressure also. If the plugs are fouled the pressure regulator may be stuck resulting in high pressure allowing too much fuel through the injectors. If it's ok, you may also have a MAP sensor going south. Steve

On the fuel rail there should be a cap and a fitting with a Shrader in it like checking tire pressure sort of. The threads are not all the same vehicle to vehicle of course so if you buy a tester make sure it will thread onto yours. Adaptors for others can add up some bucks and really nice sets are big bucks. Here's a decent one that sells for about $60. Should be available at any parts outlet, T

ckp is the crank position sensor. It is on the top of the bellhousing bolted to the motor and if not removed prior to pulling the transmission tends to get wrecked. Had the identical problem with a friend's truck that was a like model to yours. They put a new trans in and it wouldn't run. I replaced the crank sensor and it fired right up. Check for spark. I bet you aren't getting it. The computer must verify the exact position of the engine in its rotation for it to allow spark to happen. When it can't it gives no spark.

one thing i noticed no one said to do is check your grounds from engine to body those could have been bumped when the trans was changed and cause it to do that

Engine to body grounds are a must and they hide them throughout vehicles. If in question you could look for probably braided wire with eyelet ends broken clean off or messed up, OR as a test add (even if you just use good jumper cables) from block to body with nice bared connections - if that solves all or part of the troubles look for the original which might have been on a bolt engine to trans on to body. Replace or add one depending on what you might find, T
