Hi there my 04 dodge caravan starts but dies shortly don't know what is causing this, need your advice thank you.

Get the codes scanned and post the results here. Need the exact code numbers, not the generic descriptions. Most parts stores will do this for free but don't let the counter monkeys sell you any parts by saying they know what's wrong. They aren't car psychics and a code doesn't mean a part is bad for sure. When it stalls, does it slowly sputter out or is it like someone hit a light switch. When it does run, does it run normally? When it stalls, can you restart it right away or does it have to sit for a while? Has there been any recent work done? What size engine and how many miles are on it?

Have you had it scanned for codes? Just because the check engine light isn't on doesn't mean there aren't any codes stored. Sure, there might not be any stored, but it's a possibility. That's one of the first things you should do when you're having car problems regardless if the check engine light is on. It's simple, free and might be able to save you hours of troubleshooting. Also, if you can, answer the other questions Nick asked. He's a professional mechanic, along with some others on here and they will bend over backwards to help. Without them being under the hood of your car they need all of the information they can get.

No check engine light and no code are two different things. Not all codes will turn on the light, and sometimes the light burns out. With anything made after 1985 the first thing a tech is going to look at to get started is to see what codes, if any are stored. As MG pointed out, without us being able to look under the hood ourselves we need all the information we can get. I had more questions than just the codes, and I need those questions answered if I am to be of much help with this.
