Sat. my 98 dodge grand caravan over heated, secondary to an existing problem. New problem: Van now will not start. I have checked spark plugs # 2 4 and 6. nothing out of the ordinary.I have checked for spark, good there. Have fuel and new filter, can hear the pump spinning up. Oil is a little dirty, as to be expected, i need an oil change, but it's not thin and watery nor milky, (no metal shavings either). Engine will turn over, just not catch. anyone have any ideas? Plz help. i am lost lol

Re: overheating Sign In

Confirm that there is fuel pressure, by using a fuel pressure gauge; just hearing the pump only tells you that electrically its functioning.
43 – 53 PSI is the specification for all three possible engines that this van may have; which is yours 3.0, 3.3 or 3.8Lt?
If pressure is ok, then check for injector pulse by using a noid light connected to an injector’s wiring harness terminal. The light should blink while cranking the engine.
Here’s a picture of what one style of noid light kit looks like.
